It was like they had us juvenile delinquents in mind when the built the new freeway. There was a big drainage tunnel, so big we could walk through it without slouching. It led under the freeway and emptied out in a gently banked cement ditch. The ditch had its own streetlight, so we could skate and paint graffiti and shoot bottle rockets 24 hours a day. We named it the Cow Bowl.

After a while, the drainage tunnel turned into a pretty decent graffiti gallery. But then the drainage lake filled up with water and the tunnel flooded. Since then, there hasn't been much new painting.

The Cow Bowl is covered with a few inches of mud, so it's no good for skating. Now the ditch is just a ditch, and that's it.
